What is the American Gem Society™?
The American Gem Society™ was established by early pioneers in the jewellery industry over 70 years ago. The American Gem Society is a not–for–profit trade association of fine jewellers, designers, and appraisers in North America. These members are dedicated to consumer protection, ethical business practices, and the development of superior gemological skills and knowledge.
The Most Knowledgeable Professionals in the Business
In order to become a member of the American Gem Society, Anstett Jewellers first had to meet these stringent criteria:
American Gem Society™ members must:
- Have an exceptionally high level of gemological knowledge. This includes successfully completing prescribed courses and classes in diamonds and coloured gemstones.
- Possess a reputation for unquestioned integrity and must conduct business to enhance the confidence of the public.
- Demonstrate sincere interest in ethical business practices and exemplify this belief.
- Be a retail jewellery or independent appraisal business that has been established for at least two years with demonstrated financial stability.
- And all titleholders must be re-certified every year.
